Belgium - F1 Prediction League 2014

Welcome all - this is going to be a shortened post, to give people time to consider the hugely pivotal mid-season categories.

Pick two drivers for each of the three sectors - they must be from different teams. The idea is to score the lowest combined time across all six picks.

 

You will score the lowest time for the team you pick (for example a Ricciardo pick will be Red Bull) but will receive a 0.050s bonus if you pick the quickest teammate in that sector.

For example:

I pick Ricciardo and Hulkenberg in S1. Say the following quickest sector times are set during qualifying:

Ricciardo (31.0), Vettel (30.9), Hulkenberg (31.3), Perez (31.7)

The best RB driver (Vettel) scored a 30.9 second so use this. Hulkenberg scored a 31.3 but a 0.05 second bonus will be applied because Hulkenberg was picked as the best teammate, so use 31.25 for Hulkenberg. The combined score from sector 1 would therefore be 30.9 + 31.25 = 62.15 seconds. 

Note: if neither driver from your team sets a time in a sector, you will score equal to the slowest driver (time-wise) through that sector.

Template

As always pick the driver you feel will qualify highest (7pts for best pick, 5pts for second best pick, 3pts, 1pt) and the driver who will finish highest in the race (8pts, 5pts, 3pts, 1pt). The Constructors category applies to the team who scores the most points (6 pts for best pick, 3pts for second best pick, 1pt).

Hamilton, Rosberg and Mercedes are all banned.
