Canada Results and Championship Standings (7/19)

Congratulations to MetalGatherer for a fantastic weekend which included a win while becoming only the second person this year to score over 20 points in a race weekend. Kim, Rajaram and Wander all stated their intent for the championship battle with strong performances. The key to this weekend was Vettel and Red Bull who dominated throughout the weekend. Many people opted towards Rosberg for qualifying and Alonso for race (myself included) which wasn't the ideal strategy this weekend.

As a race and a spectacle Canada was far more entertaining than Monaco so hopefully you enjoyed the weekend regardless of the result.

This was updated on 28/06/2013 due to an error with Joe which was spotted.

Constructors Championship

For constructors, so not to disadvantage teams with only one driver (or to protect against someone who doesn't post), players will score points in line with race finishes. See the overall results from Spain below, MetalGatherer will score 25 points for his 1st place this weekend. This is different to how the drivers championship will be scored. If players are tied they will be separated by the following criteria: Race > Constructors > Qualifying > Random > The time of the pick (earlier the better).

There were several ties and the time the picks were posted was the deciding factor, see below for further detail.

Random

The random category this week is which team will make the most pitstops. Ties will be decided by the lap of the pitstop for the final stop, the earlier the better as demonstrated below. Any Caterham pickers have scored 3 points (well done Ediglo!), Mercedes pickers 2 points (well done 6 of you) and the rest of the results, as there were no Ferrari pickers, scored 0.

Point Allocation (Season)

Most Season Session Points

Most season session points is the ultimate gauge of consistency across all race weekend sessions. For every session (P1, P2, P3, qualifying and race) + fastest lap a driver is allocated points equivalent to the race finish (25 = 1st, 18 = 2nd, etc.). These points will be totalled across every weekend and the winner will be the one with the most points.

The season is nicely poised going forward so hopefully you'll be back for the next race in Silverstone!

  1. Hi Scott,
Thanks for sharing updates. Yup, I really enjoyed that race too. Though Vettel is in 1st position now, I am still a big fan of Alonso. Boston Bruins

    1. Thanks for responding to my post. I think it's a shame that Vettel is clearly in first position in the championship, let's hope that Alonso/Raikkonen/Hamilton can close the gap this weekend.

Feel free to take part in my F1 prediction league later in this season.
